There are a lot of gaming headsets that have really deep bass to the detriment of everything else. The Mobius is an intimate-sounding headphone and it reminds me, a lot, of the Beyer T1, something with a less than moderately size bubble of sound, but one that is very detailed and delicate. I wish the sound were a bit wider, like I get from the aforementioned G935 or HyperX’s Cloud line. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen 3D audio in a gaming headset, but it is the best implementation of it by far – easily exceeding the Acer Predator Galea 500. But, that said, this headset is more than its high-end drivers. Sure, neither sounds as good, but the Mobius is at a disadvantage. Not only does it offer a lot of “stuff”, but it also sounds pretty amazing too! This is more than just surround sound. Forgoing any RGB-lit logos or even bright colors, the Audeze Mobius looks more like a traditional pair of headphones than a gaming headset. The Audeze Mobius does sound damn good, and I’ve enjoyed gaming on it, watching movies and TV with it, and (most of all) listening to music. But what the Mobius lacks in bass presence it gains in precision, with a sound that’s not quite studio monitor flat but closer than most gaming headsets you’ll find.
